Multiple reports coming out from Scout.com and Realdawg that the UW have landed their second receiver commit for 2008, Jordan Polk from Portland (OR). Polk is rated as a 2-star receiver prospect by Rivals.com.

At 5-foot-10 and 170-pounds, he's not real big, but runs a 4.46 which is pretty impressive. His high school team (Lincoln) is currently 2-3 on the season.

I think Polk is a solid get, but I'll admit, I'm hoping for a heck of a lot more. Jermaine Kearse and Cody Bruns are two in-state receiver recruits that are probably much better at this point, the coaching staff must close both in my opinion.

Vince Taylor is the other receiver who has committed to the UW for 2008.

I think it's a good get, but agree we need more...

Polk is quick, but like you said small.  And 4.46 is fast, but not blazing.  At least not to the point where he'll be burning by people down the field at this level.

I'm hoping for more too.  I think we need at least one of those two in-state guys.  Both would be great though.

recruiting

I think Kearse is a must get for Tyrone.  I see Kearse coming down to UW and Cal.  Burns looks to be a Boise State lean at this point in my opinion.  Vince Taylor was recruited as an athlete and could stay at Safety, so I think it is a little early to slot him in at receiver.

Goodwin and Boyles are big receivers, with tons of speed.  Aguilar looks to be the return man and slot receiver.  With Izbicki at Tight End, the speed of the receiving corp for Jake Locker for the next couple of seasons is rather impressive.

Kearse

I agree, Kearse should be priority number one.

kearse

He will be down at Cal this weekend for his visit.  Kearse has to be number 1 at this point in terms of WR's.  Thompson and Middleton are the other two must gets for Tyrone and his staff.

WHOSE HOUSE?

Kavario

If they bring in Kavario, do you see them moving him to defense?? Esp. with Izbicki most likely starting at TE next year.

Kavario

With the inability of the Huskies defensive line to make an impact in any game besides Syracuse I thinnk it will be very likely.  Nick Wood, Cameron Elisara and De'Shon Matthews look to be anchoring the middle along with Tyrone Duncan.  Defensive End looks to be really thin in my opinion.

It's time for Randy Hart to stay developing the talent he is given.  Gunheim is a senior and still plays like a freshman.  Have you seen any progress in his 4 years?  Mateaki, Lobos, Issa, Hopoi and even Tripplett and Tank have been underacheiver's at Washington.  At what point does coaching come into play?

will it affect his recruitment?

But do you think that will affect Kavario's decision?? If the UW is looking at him on defense and Kavario wants to play offense, he could see that as a negative against the UW.
