Boyles and Aguilar Make The Grade

Well, the final word is in and both Anthony Boyles and Devin Aguilar got the necessary scores this time around. I believe Aguilar still needs to have his courses officially cleared by the NCAA but it appears that they will.

Both will be able to begin school in the winter semester which means that they will miss this football season and will most probably count as redshirt freshmen for next year.

Boyles is a dynamic receiver that should figure prominently in the offense next season catching balls from Locker. He is a former 4-star recruit and is from California where he is living still at the moment.

Aguilar is a 3-star receiver from Colorado but moved to Seattle while attempting to get qualified. He has been to all the UW home games and though he couldn't practice with the team, he has stayed in shape working out on his own.

Bob Condotta stated earlier in his blog that there were discussions during Aguilar's recruitment to walk-on with the basketball team. I hope that will not happen, as I believe that having missed the majority of this season he should focus 100% on football and making sure he's good to go next September. Besides, the basketball team already has good depth at the guard position and he won't likely see much PT. But that's just my opinion...

They might "greyshirt"

Condotta mentioned on his blog the other day that could be considered "greyshirts" meaning that they would have five years to play four.  Thus, they would still have the redshirt year available.  Given that we are losing some seniors at receiver to graduation and that both these guys should be around for spring practices, I would assume that you'll see at least one if not both on the field next season.
